Pole Barns: Did You Know?

November 9, 2016

 Did you know...

That steel products can be recycled repeatedly without losing its strength?

Steel products are up to 30% stronger than they were a decade ago, as well as more dent resistant.

In 2006, the steel industry recycled enough steel from old cars to produce nearly 13.5 million new ones.

Steel roofs can last nearly 50 years, while an average asphalt roofs life span is around 17 years.

Also, asphalt roofs weigh about twice as much as steel ones!

Pole barns were originated in the 1930s, receiving their name because they were built with old telephone poles as a lesser expensive option during the tough times in the Great Depression.

In the 1980s the pole barn uses were transformed to farm storage, animal shelters, retail stores, garages, workshops, and more.

You can look at today's use for pole barns and they are endless. People are even using them as homes!

We hope you enjoyed this information post along with the photos of a few of the steel barns we got the chance to build!
